Linda’s Background and Counseling Philosophy
Linda is a trained marriage and family therapist who has 35 years of experience working with families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has a strong interest in the issues of adolescents and young adults, and was a middle school and high school teacher in her first career. She enjoys working with couples; heterosexual as well as same-sex partners. Linda has taught graduate students in the Social Work Department at UW-Milwaukee, and has trained other therapists in step-family issues. She was on the board of directors of The Women’s Center for six years, and believes that her continued interest in community service helps her to be a well-rounded person and therapist. Linda is a trained Level I and II EMDR therapist. EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a well researched methodology used to treat trauma including PTSD, grief trauma, and traumas of childhood.
