Lisa’s Background and Counseling Philosophy
I am a Masters-prepared clinical social worker and have worked in the area of mental health for over 30 years. My experience has been at a variety of settings including community mental health, state psychiatric hospital, inpatient and partial hospitalization behavioral units of a community hospital.
For the past 16 years I have worked with adults and seniors as a psychotherapist. It is an honor and a privilege to work with people who have taken the very courageous step to work on issues that have negatively impacted their lives. Our work as a team is to achieve the goals to gain positive control of one’s life. I believe respect and a safe therapeutic relationship are the cornerstones of psychotherapy.
My areas of expertise include mood disorders/depression, anxiety/panic disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, relationship issues, women’s issues, adult ADHD and self-esteem/self-empowerment.
